We started this page in honor of our father, Bill (center), who died unexpectedly on Feb. 7, 2017 — the day after his 65th birthday.
He was the most passionate, most committed Packers fan we’ve ever met, and the week after he passed we published an open letter in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, sharing some of our happiest memories of him, always steeped in green & gold. (You can read all our Packers highlights here)
As we wrote then: When you talk about Packers Nation, what you’re really talking about is commitment, community and camaraderie; a fandom rooted in tradition and family. Cheering on the Packers is a family affair, and maybe if we can cheer with one another, we can also help one another mourn and heal — and pay tribute to those who have made this franchise what it is.
This site is designed as a memorial for the Packers fans we’ve lost. The loved ones we used to cheer with. Those we remember fondly with every kickoff and the debut of every new season.
Sports transcend time. The Packers unite the generations. We will always remember our dad through this team, and we’d love to hear more about your loved ones too, who you remember through the lens of Lambeau.
Please share a few stories, memories and photos of your greatest Packers fan. If you e-mail us, at GreatestPackersFan@gmail.com, or post to our Facebook wall, we’ll upload the story here, and share around. You can also follow us on Twitter.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about our dad. We’d love to learn about your Packer heroes too.
